Exercise alone probably won’t be enough. The consensus among fitness experts is starting to reflect the attitude that “Abs are made mostly in the kitchen”. So step one is eliminating the sugars, starches and bad carbs. There are tons of books to help with this. The trick is finding foods that you like that aren’t too bad for you, and concentrating on foods like that.

Execrise that moves your body, gets your blood pumping and your breathing heavy is the best kind of exercise, and what you want to concentrate on. Running, Biking, Jumping Jacks, etc. You should try to to those 3-4 days a week. On off days, maybe some ab crunches, and standing sidebends. Some people have great success with lovehandles by doing those sidebends with, and without a dumbell as resistance.

But your first big battle is restructuring your diet, and that takes a bit of studying.

If you don’t see minor results within a month, you know there’s something else about your routine you must improve. Generally, you’ll see results fairly soon, which will feel very encouraging. Good Luck.
