Lose Weight Calculator

How much calories should I be eating to lose weight and be healthy?

According to http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm I should be eating about 1300 calories a day to lose weight. I’ve been eating about 1200 calories everyday, but I also exercise 45mins at least every other day. Should I eat more? I don’t want to be unhealthy.

(according to the elliptical machines, i burn about 330 calories in that 45 minutes so should I actually eat about 1500 calories to lose the same weight?)

As long as your body is getting what it needs as far as vegetables, fruits, dairy and protein, eating 1200 calories is perfectly fine. In order to lose weight you have to burn more than you eat. Even on days that you work out you can continue to eat 1200 calories and you will just burn more calories and lose additional weight! Just make sure you are keeping your body hydrated!

  1. I eat 900 a day no but used to eat 1600 and now am trying to lose weight. Im 23 too! But as a guy with your height I think to maintain your weight need to be somewhere colser to 2,200 calories a day.
