Mostly by realizing that everyone else at the gym, including schoolmates, are so into their own thoughts that it seldom occurs to anybody else to see what you're doing. They may notice that you're there, and may socialize for a few minutes, but a good work out generally means concentrating on what you're doing, not what anyone around you is doing. Think about it, generally you are so focused on your count, how you feel, the toughness the exercise, and what you'll do next, with any spare thought space directed at trying not to realize how tired/sore you're getting, so you can do more.
Just keep reminding yourself whenever you feel vulnerable, that you are not the center of anyone else's universe, and probably checking out your routine is the last thing on their minds.
